Buy / Sell / Trade Guide

Ever wonder how we take boxes and boxes of … STUFF… and turn them into gleaming shelves of used books and more, ready to feed your head? Read on and find out with the Raleigh store’s guide to buying, selling, and trading.

How to Sell Your Items

Bring your items in boxes or bags (no trash bags please!) No appointment’s necessary! Just walk right in. We work on a first come, first serve basis, so expect some waiting time if there are others ahead of you. You’ll usually get more in Trade Credit than in cash. Trade Credit NEVER expires and can be used at any of our stores. Please note that we do not guarantee that we will purchase merchandise that came from our store.

Be prepared! If you’re selling items for cash, please make sure that you have a picture ID with you — preferably a driver’s license or state-issued ID. You must be 18 to sell items to our store for cash.

What We Don’t Want

We wish that we could buy everything that came into the store, but alas, it’s not possible. There are several types of merchandise we don’t want:

Books with water damage, broken spines, tears, pages missing, excessive writing or highlighting, mold, etc.
    Library or ex-library books
    Encyclopedia sets
    Magazines
DVDs or CDs missing cases or booklets
    Scratched or cracked discs
    Previous rental VHS

These are only examples. We also take into account our stock and the popularity of your items, both of which are likely to change daily.
